I didn’t really fit in growing up because I didn’t follow the crowd. I did my own thing, made up my own mind. And I still do. That’s why I feel like I’m living an extraordinary life, because I’m doing what I love and don’t worry about people think. It took me a while, and a few hard lessons, to get here, but I’m living my dream (and not someone else’s).
This Is Who I Am
I am, above all, a creator. Since the publication of my first essay, “On Being Black,” in 2003, I’ve focused primarily (but not exclusively) on writing. And my fiction is available on Amazon. While I spent my youth in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, I’ve called Toronto, Ontario, home since 2013. Beyond writing, I’m a runner and amateur chef/baker. I love good food.
Live your best life!
