For a long time, I had a consistent—and effective—morning routine. And it was simple. Write. Run. Write again. It let me feel productive, and that I was on the right path. There was, equally, a sense of fulfillment. But life is not constant or linear, and when the winds of change blow, that forces you to pivot. [Read more…] about Winds of Change
Writing Life
Do What You Love
It is not just a trite adage. When embraced as a powerful guiding principle, it can transform your life: do what you love.
Stay Real
‘Do what you love’ doesn’t mean that one day you wake up and quit your job and everything that is wrong in your life. I know. I did that. And I paid the price that came along with doing that. The Winding Path
It is easy to want to go from A to Z, from idea to conception, from unknown to superstar. But becoming an ‘overnight success,’ as we know, takes time—sometimes years, and in some cases decades, of work. Showing up day after day, and when you are constantly asking yourself, “What’s the point?” to do what the work requires. And I have learned that bringing any project to life takes you down a winding path. It is never straight or easy, never exactly what you expect. [Read more…] about The Winding Path
